Highlights:

Christmas Night Incident in Dnipro

On Christmas night, the russian army once again struck Dnipro. Rocket fragments fell near one of our large shelters, shattering a window. Miraculously, none of the shelter’s residents were harmed.
In various districts of Dnipro, windows were shattered, and the destruction affected many homes. This event underscores the ongoing risks and challenges faced by civilians in conflict zones, even during moments meant for peace and celebration.

Visit to the Planetarium

In December, children from our Dreamcenter visited the Planetarium, creating unforgettable memories.
  • The experience was especially meaningful for neurodivergent children, as it provided a safe and stimulating environment to explore the wonders of the universe.
  • The interactive exhibits and immersive shows helped foster curiosity and engagement while offering an opportunity for children to express themselves and connect with others.
This visit demonstrated the importance of inclusive educational experiences, reminding us of the resilience and potential of every child.

Major Shelter Relocation

In December, CNG carried out a large-scale relocation from a large shelter to a new one in the Kirovohrad region. The new facility is a repurposed hospital converted into a shelter for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Details of the relocation:
  • 27 individuals moved to the new shelter.
  • Our team organized the relocation.
  • This move has freed up transit spaces in our shelter, enabling us to accept more families.
In December, several families from the transit shelter for mothers with children transitioned into permanent residence in the new facility. The relocation marks a significant step forward in improving living conditions for our residents.

Christmas Fundraising Campaign

CNG successfully raised 38,723 hryvnias dedicated to Christmas presents and activities for children in our shelters. Thanks to these funds:
  • Festive events were held in shelters.
  • Each child received personalized gifts, bringing joy and warmth during the holiday season.

Completion of Food Distribution Project

December marked the conclusion of the food distribution program in partnership with the World Food Programme.
We asked our colleagues to share their experiences during this initiative. Their stories highlight the dedication and challenges faced throughout this vital project. Read more.
