Capturing Resilience: Ryan Carter & Children New Generation in Dnipro

On May 15-20, our Fund welcomed Ryan Carter, a renowned photographer and communication specialist from Adelaide, Australia.

As an experienced storyteller, Ryan has visited multiple countries throughout the world, telling compelling and impactful stories of struggle and resilience.

During these few days in Dnipro, Ryan visited our shelter for internally displaced persons and our center for children with developmental differences, spent countless hours with our team, and traveled with us to the Donetsk region to document our food distribution efforts with the UN World Food Programme.

Valentina from Krasnohorivka, Donetska oblast. Valentina was evacuated and brought to the Children New Generation shelter for internally displaced persons in Dnipro.
This trip to Ukraine is not the first for Ryan, as for 5 years he lived and worked in Ternopil with his family. This time, coming to Ukraine during the full-scale invasion, Ryan aims to tell the wider audience about the realities of the war through the lens of the people who experience it every day. Our country, with a wide history of invasion and struggle, has suffered a lot, but through that suffering has risen our tremendous resilience, determination and inner beauty.
We are extremely grateful to Ryan for grasping these vital characteristics of Ukraine in his photos. Ryan's passion for his craft goes beyond capturing mere images; it is about telling the stories of real people and their unwavering spirit. His genuine appreciation for humanity shines through in his work, inspiring us all to see the world through a lens of empathy and understanding.

For more information on Ryan’s activities in Ukraine and beyond, visit his Website, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
