Monthly Report - SEPTEMBER 2024

In September, Children New Generation made remarkable strides in continuing our mission to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict. We provided essential support to families and individuals in need through evacuations, shelter services, and specialized care programs. Our operations expanded, touching the lives of thousands.

KEY FIGURES:

  • 592 people were evacuated from conflict zones, including 89 minors and 43 individuals with disabilities.
  • 352 transit residents and 21 permanent residents were housed in our Dnipro shelter.
  • 59 children, including 25 with disabilities, attended specialized programs at the Dream Center.
  • 19,632 residents of the Pokrovskyi district received food assistance through our partnership with the World Food Programme.

Evacuations from Donetsk Region

In September, our evacuation efforts intensified as conflict escalated in the Donetsk region. A total of 592 people were evacuated, of whom 317 were women and 275 were men. Among the evacuees were 43 individuals with disabilities and 89 minors. We continue to prioritize the most vulnerable populations, including 303 elderly people.

Shelter Operations: Providing Transit and Permanent Homes

Our shelter in Dnipro saw a high volume of transit residents in September. 352 individuals passed through, including 63 minors and 188 elderly individuals. We also registered 21 new permanent residents, offering long-term accommodation to those unable to return home, including 13 elderly individuals.

Dream Center: Offering Specialized Support for Children with Disabilities

Our Dream Center remained a crucial hub for children and their families in September. The center served 59 children, including 25 with disabilities, providing access to vital programs that support development and inclusion. Our Dream Center now has communicative inclusive groups supervised by Olga Malikova (Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of Behavioral Analysts, Master of Special Education, Behavioral Analyst (CBA-S)).
In addition, the multisensory and sensory rooms saw 109 and 122 sessions, respectively, offering therapeutic environments for children with various needs.

Youth Center: Empowering Adolescents through Camps and Activities

Our Youth Center hosted 390 adolescents in September, providing them with a space for personal growth and social engagement. These programs included summer camps and workshops designed to help youth from displaced families regain a sense of normalcy.

Food Distribution in Donetsk Oblast

In partnership with the World Food Programme, we distributed food aid to 19,632 residents of the Pokrovskyi district in September. The recipients included 1,763 minors, 13,571 elderly individuals, and 2,127 individuals with disabilities. This essential support ensures that vulnerable families receive the nutrition they need as conflict disrupts their livelihoods.

Looking Ahead: Expanding our Reach

As we move toward the colder months, we are working closely with our partners to prepare for the increased demand for shelter, clothing, coal, food and water. Our team remains committed to delivering immediate aid and long-term solutions to help families rebuild their lives.
Together with our volunteers, partners, and supporters, we continue to bring hope to those impacted by war. Thank you for standing with us on this journey.
